Itoh-san waves a friendly goodbye
after we consume many of his deliciouscroquettes — the best in Tokyo, we believe.
Tokyo, Japan (March, 2006) - Curry croquettes, red pepper croquettes, vegetable croquettes, and your usual meat croquettes — Itoh-san simply makes the best available in Tokyo.
He is famous throughout Bunkyo-ku for his fare, appearing on both television and in magazines. His storefront is very near Higuchi Ichiyo’s (as in the ¥5000 note) former residence.
You can find his store on Kikuzaka Dori. If you don’t recognize the name, a cab driver will very likely be able to. If not, start at Akamon at Todai and walk west. It’s a Japanese tourist area, and there is a very nice map at Kikuzaka-shita redlight (across from Mannebiche bakery.)
