Hamburg in Wine sauce (serves 4)

Patties:
  • Ground chuck, 1 1/2 pounds
  • 2 large onions, chopped finely
  • 1 egg
  • Bread crumbs (or bread powder) 1/2 cup
  • Milk, 1/4 cup
  • Red wine, 1 brimming tablespoon

Wine sauce:
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • Red wine, 1/2 cup
  • Ketchup, 1/2 cup
  • Worcestershire sauce, 1 tablespoon
  • Water, 1/4 cup

Stir all of the patty ingredients together in a mixing bowl.

Form four patties.

Saute patties in a bit of vegetable oil until medium throughout. Remove patties and drain excess oil.

Add all sauce ingredients to pan, bring to a boil for five minutes.

Add patties to sauce, cook covered for five minutes.
